2017 Cheese Curd Festival Awarded Grant

If you were able to join us last night for Jingle & Mingle, then you heard the big news! As we shared with our members earlier this year, we applied for a Joint Effort Marketing (JEM) grant through the Wisconsin Department of Tourism to help us fund promotion of the 2017 Cheese Curd Festival as we transition into a full-fledge foodie event.
 
Last night Ellsworth Area Chamber Of Commerce Executive Director, Russ Korpela, announced that our grant was accepted! As you can see from the photo, everyone was extremely excited to hear the news!
 
The grant amount of $25,900 will leverage a $34,000 promotional campaign to strengthen our event, deliver a stronger return on investment for our sponsors, and attract significant tourism dollars to our region. The grant dollars will be used toward rebranding efforts and promotion of the event regionally, particularly in the Twin Cities market.
 
This funding is a game-changer for the event and our community. Many of Wisconsin’s signature events got their start thanks to the JEM program and the Department of Tourism saw the potential in our festival. Needless to say, as an organization we’re very excited about what the future holds. Our Cheese Curd Festival Committee is already rolling up their sleeves and getting down to work.
